Since a long time, We were reviewing thin and light laptops. We reviewed Zenbook and then Galaxy book Then Zenbook Space edition, They were thin and light but they were very expensive So, I thought to get a budget laptop as well So, Today we have HP 15. People are slightly confused with this Because HP has a pavilion series and a normal series as well These both are thin and light, This one comes in a slightly lower segment HP Pavilion comes at a slightly premium segment I reviewed it in the last generation and I will try to review it in this generation as well Because these laptops are coming with 12th generation. This is our box and inside that we have our laptop in a tray similar to an egg tray Then we have a 65W charger and a basic power cord. Some books that we never read And this is our laptop and it looks amazing. It looks very professional in silver colour This is our laptop with HP branding on the top. Talking about the specifications, It ha s i5 1235U processor which has 10 cores and 12 threads And don’t get impressed by 10 cores and 12 threads in a thin and light laptops because it has only 2 performance cores And 8 efficiency cores.
So, The performance won’t be that good And in this, We get Intel Iris XE onboard graphics, 8 GB dual channel RAM with 3200 Mhz clock speed Here, You can see 2 sticks of 4 GB each are installed. I don’t know whether it is upgradable or not It has a 512 GB PCIe Nvme M.2 SSD and its read and write speeds are on the screen Which is really good, And you will get MS Office 2021 for lifetime WiFi 5 and Bluetooth Version 5.0 and this laptop is currently priced at Rs 57,000 on Amazon I was expecting WiFi6 but we don’t get that in this. But this is a 5Ghz WiFi and there is no issue with that You will get good speeds if you have a 5 Ghz WiFi at home Like I have Airtel Xstream fiber at home with 200 Mbps plan and it is showing a 240 Mbps download speed Which is enough As this comes with a GEN 3 SSD, I checked the boot speed. Let’s check it again You can see that the main screen has appeared within 4-5 seconds Which is good according to this price point So, There is no issue in terms of speed, It has an SSD. Before talking about its beauty, One important thing All those who are watching this video from Uttarakhand or Dehradun, This part is for them Rest of you can skip the video according to the timestamps This laptop has been provided by Laptop store Dehradun and here you will get every type of gaming laptop Or professional laptops Here, You will get the facilities for cash, credit, EMI and if you are also from Dehradun or Uttarakhand And planning to buy a laptop, Address and contact details are given in the description Don’t forget to check that out, Now let’s talk about the beauty of this laptop The top lid comes in a plastic build and the top lid flex is very low There are no issues in terms of build quality The interior also comes purely in plastic and a slight keyboard flex is present here And here, We have Intel Iris and MS office branding. And the weight of this laptop is just 1.6 kgs So, you can easily carry it in your hands.
If you are a college student or a businessman and you want a laptop for basic work So, This could be a good choice for Rs 57,000 Its one drawback is that, This doesn’t open with one hand You have to apply some pressure or you have to use the other hand I am holding the camera right now And the best thing about this is as soon as we open the lid, The laptop turns on In the previous generation, It used to take 2-3 seconds to turn on but in this it opens within 1 second I liked this And here, We are getting a full sized keyboard, The typing experience is very basic Just like any other Rs 50-60K laptop and then we have a trackpad and it comes in a rectangular shape But this is a fully clickable trackpad and there is no issue while using it And here, You get the air vents for air exhaust and at the back you get the air intake vents And from the backside as well, it comes in a proper plastic build Coming on to the ports, On the left side, You get a power input ports and 2 USB 3.0 ports which are 5 GBPS ports which support superspeed and on the right side, We get an HDMI 1.4 port And this is an HDMI 1.4 port so you can get the output of 4K 30 FPS through this And 1080P 120 Hz as well on an external monitor And this is a Type-C 3.0 superspeed port which supports 5 GBPS and a headphone/mic jack combo And a full sized SD card slot, I am happy that it has a Full sized SD card slot This should be provided with gaming laptops as well because this is very important in today’s time I don’t know why they don’t give one, Please give it It doesn’t have a backlight keyboard.
It comes with a simple keyboard You get a backlight keyboard in HP pavilion 14 and HP pavilion 15 There are some other differences as well which I will tell you in the conclusion part Whether you should buy this one or you should add some money and buy that one That one is 5-7K expensive than this. Talking about the display, Here you get a 15.6 inches 1080P FHD Antiglare display And this is a UWVA panel, This is not an IPS panel and this is a basic display, Don’t expect much from this It comes with 250 nits brightness and it is good for normal use and you will get this type of display only at this price The viewing angles are not that good and the pixel density of the display is 141 PPI So, The colors are okay. They are not that punchy. It has 2 speakers, The wattage isn’t mentioned but the speakers are not very loud nor that low You will get a balanced sound so it will work for you This is its webcam and its mic test, It has a 720P webcam and this is its quality Currently there are 2 lights facing towards me, Let me show in low light conditons It has increased the ISO in low light and the image has become very grainy We can expect these webcams at this price point. Tell me what you think about this webcam Now talking about the battery, It has a 41 Whr battery. So don’t expect much from this battery I did basic usage like software installation, Youtube. My WiFi was on and the screen brightness was 50% And the laptop was running in battery saver mode and in that I have got the backup of 2-2.5 hours Which is less. A thin and light laptop should have a better battery backup So, you have to compromise in terms of battery backup. On the website, It is mentioned as 7-8 hours How can you write this? Now talking about the performance, Firstly, let me tell you the benchmark scores In Cinebench R23, The multicore score was 4613 and the single core score was 970 The total score of PC mark 10 is 4802 which is really good and the multicore score of Geekbench 5 is 2743 And single core score was 1479, These tests are for the CPU and this is a CPU based laptop. There is no graphics card and those who are watching this video and don’t understand the scores Let me give you an idea about that. You can do very basic 1080P video editing on this.
And if you are college student and want to do basic coding, You won’t face any issues while coding We did mutlitasking as well. We opened a lot of tabs on internet We played 4K videos on Youtube and we opened MS office in this as well The laptop didn’t lag. So this is good for basic usage and the other things that I told you But if you want to do high end work, Then you have to increase your budget Although this is not a gaming laptop, Still I ran GTA V on this or normal settings And 720P resolution and I was getting approximately 30-35 FPS and it’s good because it has a 60 Hz panel So, if you want to enjoy casual gaming sometimes, You can do that I also tested Valorant but there was some server issue so it didn’t run properly And I was having this laptop for limited time. It will easily provide you 100 FPS on 720P So, If you connect an external monitor through the HDMI, You can do casual gaming This was the complete review of HP 15S i5. In this, You will get HP 14 as well HP pavilion 14 and HP pavilion 15 as well.
Only size difference is there between 15 and 14 And the HP pavilion 15 costs Rs 65,000 with the same specifications But in that, You will get some extra benefits. Like WiFi 6 and Bluetooth version 5.2, backlight keyboard, HDMI 2.1 and the ports are also slightly better Display is also slightly better. So, you can spend 5,000-6,000 more and buy that and its feel is very premium. So I will try to review it Rest, In 57,000 if you want a laptop with i5 12th GEN. I will see you tommorow till then, BYE
