Friends, this is the Apple MacBook Air M2. The latest upgrade with an M2 chip. We’ll unbox it today & give my first impressions. But it’s a big upgrade compared to the MacBook Air M1. And the price has upgraded too, which shouldn’t have happened but it’s there. Watch the video till the end to know whether it’s a value for money or not. MacBook Air have carried the value for money proposition but does it carry on with the M2? After many years the MacBook’s design has changed. If you look at it, its not the same as the previous model and its completely changed Looks at this new color – ‘StarLight’ & the thickness is uniform I though it would be heavy, its not that heavier.
Box content – Type C to MagSafe charging cable, 35W adapter (Upto 67W Support) Now lets look at the laptop. Lets check the weight . Its 1.23 Kg which I think its quite light Ports & Buttons – MagSage 3 Charging Port, 2 X Type C Ports, 3.5mm Jack. There’s no HDMI Port You can open with one finger This is the new Starlight color. Its kind of golden with slight shade of pink it looks really good. Keyboard – Size of keys are quite big with good spacing between them. This a Magic Keyboard so you’ll enjoy the typing experience Trackpad – Its quite big & is very responsive as well. You also get TouchID as well This is a backlit keyboard. Overall it has a simplistic & polished design If you look at this display you’ll notice something new, ‘The Notch’ like the iPhones & it has Webcam inside the notch The size of the screen has also increased. Previous models were 13.3’’ now you get 13.6’’ screen 500nits of brightness & is quite bright. (Resolution : 2560 X 1664) Performance – You get 25% more transistors (20 billion).
M2 chip is definitely improved & you use it for content creation , editing etc But it doesnt come with ‘fan’, its a fanless design. So if you’re planning to edit for longer duration then you can look at MacBook Pro M2 Which has fan so thermals are in control. This one doesnt have fan it is having unibody design Important – It depends which variant you take, the base 8GB/25GB variant starts with Rs 1.19 Lakh People used to buy MacBook Air as they were the cheaper & were value for money specially for multimedia & had attractive prices But 1.20 Lakh is slightly expensive. If it was prices at around 1Lakh it would’ve been nice There are many differences if go for base variant. Storage speed is almost half in the base variant (1500Mbps) In our 16GB/1TB variant – we got around (3000Mbps) speed which is a big difference You you can bump up RAM upto 24GB which is good compared to 16GB in previous model Battery is also increased. You can get upto 18Hrs* of battery life. You can easily get upto 14-15Hrs of battery Even if you are a heavy user you can get around 10-12hrs of battery. So battery life is really good There will be no problems for video calls, online meetings as you get a 1080p Webcam from 720p.
It has 3 microphones & the quality is one of the best. Multimedia – You get quad speakers instead of stereo speakers & the quality if the speaker is really good. So its a ideal laptop for multimedia OS – You’ll get regular updates & Apple is known for giving regular updates. You get MacOS Monterey out of the box Connectivity – Wi-Fi 6, BT 5.0 My impressions – It has many updrages & it is great machine but is also expensive by a bit. There are many Apple fans & they dont use anything else apart form MacBooks and for them this is really good If you’re planning to get a higher variant of MacBook Air M2 i.e (512GB/1TB), for that price you might get MacBook Pro with M1 Pro so you have to keep that in mind Many people will love this design but I still like the iconic design of the previous models Even this looks good specially the color Thats it for today,Bye.
